In the 19th century, brides wore ballet flats, boots, kitten heels, ankle boots, spool heels, strap shoes, and some other styles of women’s shoes for their wedding. Many footwear styles the modern brides use today as well. The difference is, those were all handmade shoes, and they were not always of high-quality. The techniques used to produce shoes changed a lot since the 1800s.
